Peanut Butter Balls

This Peanut Butter Balls recipe is the best I’ve tried so far.

Rice Krispies Peanut Butter Balls

  • 1 cup crunchy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups puffed rice cereal
  • 1 1/2 cups Wilton dipping chocolate
Mix peanut butter, butter, and salt together. Carefully and slowly add in powdered sugar and then stir in the puffed rice cereal.

Place chocolate into double boiler & melt slowly over low heat, stirring often until fully melted.

Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.

Roll Rice Krispies mixture into about fifty-four 1-inch balls.

Allow to harden in a cool place. You can place them on a tray in the fridge for about 20 minutes to set the chocolate.

Deanna’s love for baking and cooking first began when she sat upon a baker’s stool as a little girl. Her love for people grew in the midst of church potlucks. Today, she expresses these loves creatively through speaking engagements and food writing. Deanna hosted guests, including celebrities, at her award-winning B&B in the Snoqualmie Valley. Deanna has been seen on both local and national television with her Saucy Balsamic Burgers which knocked 'N Sync's Joey Fatone to his knees. Besides her children, Deanna’s mud pie is one of the most beautiful things she has ever created.

Thanks so much for posting this! My mum used to make these favourites when we were growing up in the 1970s and I lost my recipe. I remember she used a bit of paraffin wax (in place of the shortening) to firm up the chocolate.
