Dotter’s Owl-Themed Birthday Party

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Dotter’s owl-themed birthday party was such fun. It seems like just yesterday we celebrated Dotter’s 16th birthday. I told her and son they must never grow up but neither one of them listened to me. Son now towers over me and Dotter celebrated her 20th birthday this weekend.

Broth

Place chicken, beef, or vegetable broth in a fondue pot on medium-high heat for cooking beef & chicken. Electric fondue pots are best for this. Add sea salt & pepper. Let everyone know how important it is that their raw meat doesn’t touch their plates and gets cooked thoroughly before eating.

And this. Isn’t she beautiful? I adopted her from a thrift store. I love her.

Chocolate Fondue

  • 16 ounces 65-70% chocolate
  • 16 ounces heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Melt chocolate and heavy cream over low heat. Whisk until chocolate melts and everything comes together to make a beautiful chocolaty ganache. Fresh berries, cutie orange pieces, and banana slices (cut at last minute and coat with lemon juice to help prevent browning) ready to dip into the glorious chocolate. Frozen banana slices with nuts for dipping are also yummy.

I love to use chocolate bars because they don’t have the cornstarch coating normal chocolate chips have. Instead of becoming a thick mess, they melt perfectly.

Happy birthday, Dotter. My Northwest has been brighter and luckier every day since you were born.
