Chopped Pizza Salad

Chopped Pizza Salad. What could be a healthier way to eat a family favorite like pizza than out of a salad bowl?

I can’t make any promises that it will become a replacement but I can tell you that we’ve been eating a whole lot more salad at our house since I created this recipe!

Chopped Pizza Salad

(Leave croutons off for gluten-free, Paleo, or Keto-friendly options)

  • 1-pint mini tomatoes, cut in half
  • 1/2 medium sweet onion, grated or minced
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 4 sprigs fresh basil, chiffonade
  • 4 sprigs fresh oregano, stemmed
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup large bacon bits
  • 16 ounces mini pepperoni (or chopped regular size pepperoni)
  • 2-3 ounce can of black olives, sliced or chopped
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 cup buttermilk ranch dressing
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse ground pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup garlic croutons (optional)
  • Your favorite pizza toppings

You can vary the ingredients a lot to your liking but here are the measurements we use for our pizza salad.

Place all ingredients in a large bowl. Add the lettuce and croutons right before it’s time to serve and toss until coated with dressing.

Più delizioso!
