Sunrise Orange Juice

I’m not sure today’s Sunrise Orange Juice post is so much a recipe as it is a cute a hostess with the mostess tip.

Sunrise Orange Juice

I discovered this by mistake while making breakfast for some of my first guests and it became the norm at The Old Hen B&B.

Sunrise Orange Juice

  • 6 cups orange juice (fresh squeezed is best)
  • 6 tablespoons raspberry syrup
  • 16 frozen raspberries

Pour the orange juice into six pretty glasses. The more unusual the juice glass, the better the juice tastes.

If you choose to make these mimosas or a tequila sunrise, add half a cup of champagne or tequila into each glass & stir before the raspberry syrup goes in. It’s important that the juice and/or alcohol go in first and then the syrup afterward to accomplish this pretty look.

Pour about a tablespoon of raspberry syrup into each glass. Do not stir the syrup in. Let it settle at the bottom of the glasses and create the sunrise look.

As a finishing touch, drop a few frozen raspberries into the juice. Frozen raspberries float and fresh do not. Who knew?

In this particular cutie glass, I liked the look of just one raspberry. It made me so happy – far happier than it should have made me feel, I am quite sure.
