Once and a while one needs to escape the inn and take in a new old view at Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington.
Yeah, like that.
We love to go to Pike Place Market. We take pictures for no reason at all. And I always try to find a place I haven’t ever been to yet.
We happened upon The Pink Door out of luck.
It was not in our plans to try it this time but it is my understanding that this is what one can find behind the pink door. I must go.
I did, however, pose in front of the pink door. Jealous? I thought so. I look suspicious but really I am excited.
And because I do love all things mini, I took a picture of their adorable mini pink door for you. Isn’t it sweet? I can’t wait to go here next time!

Dotter who works at Starbucks so we are obligated to visit the first Starbucks. Goodness, all in a row.
Last year at Christmas time, this sweet man in the window asked me to watch his water for him. I did. I’m thinking this Starbucks is where he hangs out every day.
While my family headed to Pike Place Chowder for lunch…
… I opted for a piroshky at Piroshky Piroshky.
They have a lovely variety. My choice of beef & cheese was just as heavenly as I remember it to be.
Entertainment on every corner.
Using my super-sleuth skills, I found Stewart Street which when heading into the market leads you onto this bridge which has more lovely vendors. My goal? To meet my friends from Twitter. I do love Twitter.
First, Becky from Seattle Rainwater Soap Company. She is even sweeter than I imagined. I bought this ginger zest skin smoothie. Amazing stuff!
Right across the way was my new friend, Kat. She sells beautiful handmade tiles from Silken Path. Aren’t they stunning? She too is such a loving soul.
If you are not on Twitter, I do recommend hopping on and connecting with others. In the midst of it all, you will find gems like these ladies.
Dotter and I may have won for the goofiest picture idea for the day. It is becoming a tradition to take pictures in this restroom.
One must visit the Fish! guys.
It rained from beginning to end but to me, this is the traditional Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington trip plus Christmas decorations. Another trip worth remembering. Another coat to set out to dry.
OH MY Gosh – I want to try those Peppermint Patties!!! They look so simple and NY Peppermint Patties top my fave list…so this recipe might just soon replace it on the list. Thanks soooo much for sharing your Pike Place adventure, your recipes and light-humored take on life. Love it!!!
Oh what a fun day!!! I just told Husband the other day that I want to go to the Pink Door for my birthday (in March), must I really wait that long???
OK, Favorite recipe, although I am confident they are all delish, I have not tried all of them, but thus far my favorite and the favorite of my children is the sugared pumpkin seeds. Makes me want to buy pumpkins just so we can make the seeds, I even used seeds from danish squash and they were amazing too. Please tell me all squash seeds are edible cause we are planning on eating them all sugared up. 🙂
You guys are hysterical! Have never been to Pike Place but if I go, I want you to be my tour guide! I would have to say I would like to try the pecan pie the most!

If you are at Piroshky Piroshky my fave thing there is the cinnamon cardamon braid. Yummy.
The brown Starbucks logo at 1912 Pike Place IS unique. There was a 2008 version of the brown logo which IS found at many Starbucks stores all over the place, but the 2008 version of the logo has the Siren with more hair so that her titties get covered up! She’s more conservative! LOL
So many great pics! I love the market. I’m not trying to win in the contest because it almost doesn’t seem fair. I live close enough to walk to the market anytime. 🙂
As to your recipes, well I can’t cook but the breakfast sub with tomato and egg and cheese and sprouts made me quite hungry looking at the photos.
