Juneau, Alaska on Princess Cruise Line

Juneau Alaska on Princess Cruise Line. You guys, I did it. I’ve always wanted to zip line. So, you know, why not zip line for the first time in the wild Alaskan trees while 135 feet in the air?

This was my first ride in a Unimog. This is also my first time writing the word “Unimog”.

And in case the zip lining doesn’t make you wet your pants, try this wonky bridge on for size.

See that little deck around the tree in this photo? Yeah. You gotta lift your arms to push on the brakes to slow down before you get there. You will want to work on your upper arm strength before going zip lining for the first time. Yes. Yes, you will. Scared, weak little me is making a strong suggestion to adventurous, brave you. You’re welcome.

And then you get to stand on that wonky deck with about eight other peeps while you await your next zip. Spoiler alert. I made it. And it was exhilarating and scary as hell and exhilarating.

Don’t get me started on the teenie tiny speedy boat we rode back & forth from ziplining. Let’s just say. I’m a survivor.

The boys went salmon fishing. They survived too. And they got salmon.

I got scared. The boys got salmon. Something’s fishy here.

Surf & Turf with petite filet mignon, large prawns, bearnaise sauce, and pencil asparagus.

Steamed Red King Crab Legs with red skin potatoes, sugar snap peas, and drawn butter.

Chicken and Leek Pot Pie with buttery flaky pastry, tarragon, and creamy gravy.

And a beautiful view as we pulled out of port. Sail on, brave girl. Sail on.

Today, she expresses these loves creatively through speaking engagements and food writing. Deanna hosted guests, including celebrities, at her award-winning B&B in the Snoqualmie Valley. Deanna has been seen on both local and national television with her Saucy Balsamic Burgers which knocked 'N Sync's Joey Fatone to his knees. Besides her children, Deanna’s mud pie is one of the most beautiful things she has ever created.
