How to Make Maple Syrup

Learn how to make maple syrup from maple extract.

Making it the night before you need it is optimal so it has time to thicken perfectly.

Maple Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon pure maple extract
  • Dash of sea salt

Place water and, sugar in a pan. Whisk ingredients together well. Turn heat on to medium-high and stir occasionally. Watch for the syrup to boil, turn down the heat a bit, and keep the syrup at a light boil for 2-3 minutes. Stir in lemon juice, maple, and salt. The syrup will thicken as it cools, so making the night before is the best option. Keep refrigerated and heat up a bit when serving again.

Delightfulistic. Perhaps this syrup deserves a tasty trial run with these pancakes or these waffles.
