How to Make Gravy from a Roast

In this post, I’ll show you How to Make Gravy from a Roast.

Save those drippings!

How to Make Gravy from a Roast

  • 5 tablespoons fat, olive oil, or butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups meat juices or broth
  • 2 teaspoons bouillon or Better Than Bouillon (optional)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Add fat to a medium-large pan over medium heat. If using butter, wait for it to melt.

Sprinkle in flour anytime (or after butter has melted).

After the pan is hot, whisk while cooking for a few minutes. This does a couple of things. It cooks out the raw flour and gives your gravy great color.

Pour in the juices or broth and add the bouillon if desired. Continue to whisk and cook. It will thicken into a beautiful gravy. Salt and pepper to your liking.

Deanna has been seen on both local and national television with her Saucy Balsamic Burgers which knocked 'N Sync's Joey Fatone to his knees.
