Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls. When your kids are as nuts over chocolate chip cookie dough as mine are, maybe you can relate to my thoughts of, “Why even bother baking the cookies?” After years of my kids begging me to not bother, I finally came up with a recipe to their liking – no traditional oven needed.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup superfine white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 – 12-ounce bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup walnuts (optional), chopped

Place the flour in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 60 seconds so it can reach 160F. This will make sure it is safe to eat. Cream together butter and brown sugar. Add vanilla, salt, and flour. Mix well. Stir in one package of chocolate chips and walnuts with a spoon.

Roll into one inch balls, place cookie dough balls on parchment paper on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and place in freezer for about a half an hour.

Melt one package of semi-sweet chocolate. Start by melting in a glass bowl then microwave for 30 seconds at a time and stir in between each 30-second interval. Do this until the chocolate is almost all melted then stir until completely melted.

Best if stored in refrigerator or freezer and far away from anyone who is trying to diet.
