To start off the week right, I bought Savory Sweet Life‘s beautiful new cookbook and the Best of 425 Magazine which The Old Hen B&B is listed in for winning best B&B in the 425 area code. I also bought fresh berries.
We celebrated the Fourth in a nice, quiet fashion only, you know, with noisy fireworks.
We had the privilege of introducing our new friends from Scotland to s’mores.
“What are s’mores?” They asked.
“They are a sugar sandwich.” I said.
Ruth enjoyed her perfectly roasted marshmallow. She was a pro right from the start.
And Lacklan roasted his marshmallow perfectly as well. Most impressive.
And Keith, the American? Well, let’s just say he may need to come back for some more roasting lessons.
We had a busy week. By the time we were done, Grandma Dixie looked like this. And we laughed & laughed. Then we took a nap. It’s hard work buying books, lighting fireworks and teaching people how to roast a marshmallow. And we love every bit of it.
