Easy Party Meatballs Recipe

These meatballs are one of the easiest and most delicious treats you can make for a gathering. With party season upon us once again, please welcome this yummy pastor’s wife’s secret recipe into your go-to recipe box. I was so pleased when my friend Gloria shared this one with me years ago. I was ready to write it down but she was done sharing it with me before I could even find a pen. This recipe is very forgiving and tastes a little different depending on what kinds of jelly you use, what brand of sauce and you can even give it a little kick with a teaspoon of crushed red peppers stirred in if you like.

From the freezer section of the grocery store, you will need about 70 to 100 pre-prepared meatballs. Place in a crock pot with about 30 ounces of your favorite barbecue sauce and about 30 ounces almost any kind of jelly (raspberry, grape, blackberry… – any of which will work great). Add a bit of salt & pepper and allow to simmer on high in crock pot, stirring occasionally,  for about two hours or until hot.

I will guarantee that these will be gone at the end of every party.

To plan for a party, make four meatballs per person. You might like to plan on more meatballs per person if you are just serving hors devours or if you have invited Sumo wrestlers or teenage boys or, well, you get the idea.
