My mom and dad live in a cute little barn on the same property as The Old Hen. More than likely, you will get to meet my mom, Dixie, when you have breakfast here because she helps me in the kitchen often. We enjoy working together. She spends her extra time hacking into my Facebook status. She’s a lot of fun and she is always a good sport.
Dixie AKA Mom, Grandma and frogquito farmer
Last month mom started feeding goldfish food to a pot of tadpoles in her garden. They were cute little swimmers. We were excited to meet the little frogs someday but we were also trying to picture so many of them hopping out of the flower pot all at one time.
Then we learned from my 13 year old son that these were not tadpoles at all. They were mosquitoes! Ewwwww! Here are a couple of charts I found on the internet to help you see the differences.
You might want to check your own flower pots and make sure that you aren’t growing any mosquitoes. If you do like raising mosquitoes, we can recommend fish food as a treat of choice.
We love teasing mom about her about her frogquitoes. Sometimes it’s the little things that make life a tad more fun.
